In "Drumming: Ecstasy & Evolution", Jim will teach you hand drumming techniques to play exciting rhythms and drumming songs from Africa, the Americas, and the Caribbean. You will also learn a simple yet powerful, four-step process that will teach you how to deeply connect with your drumming by learning to inject true emotion into what you play. This process will help to intensify your experience and provide a great opportunity to access both your personal connection with the drum, as well as your connection to the people around you.

"Drumming: Ecstasy & Evolution" also teaches you to drum in a supportive and selfless way, and as you do this, your drumming experience will become richer, more satisfying and cathartic. It's true community music making.

Beginners warmly welcomed. Drums and percussion provided. Ages 17 and up. 

Jim Donovan is an award winning teacher and the former drummer of the multi-platinum band Rusted Root.  He has shared the stage with music legends such as Carlos Santana, Page and Plant, The Grateful Dead, and many others.
